Puebla 8 Ote
Puebla (Mexico)
The project intends to restore an old townhouse in the historic centre of Puebla and its conversion as a brand-new multifunctional space: a cultural and gastronomic centre as well as rent flats. The construction of an additional volume on top of the existing roof –respecting the height restrictions as established by the city planning– further incorporates a private residential program.
The project is arranged following the original primary structure: a massive volume perforated by two inner patios –the historic front and a more recent rear. Straightforward in its lay-out and serene in its materiality, a new superposed piece allows the building to become a neutral container to host shifting programs and functions.
