Hardau I
Zurich (Switzerland)
In between the bustling Hardstraße and the Hardaupark, the project Hardau I seeks to provide a dense but balanced response to urban and suburban contexts likewise, embedding different scales.
On top of a semi-public ground layer and organized around a green, multi-purpose centre, private layers of residential unities are arranged in a flexible layout of typologies, according to the needs of different users. This flexibility is further extended within the nine different types, which are adaptable to changing needs by minimal modifications.
A modular facade system allows free arrangement of openings, favouring the functional aspect of the units themselves but also enhancing the ensemble’s identity. The lawns and open spaces of the project function as the green heart of the project, as connection and permeability are pursued to create relations in-between the blocks.
